Caressing the Senses:
Grew & Co’s New Flagship Store

Grew & Co’s new flagship store on Clarence St in Sydney is set to be a major destination for collectors of exquisite, Australian-made jewellery.

Located in one of the city’s most talked-about architectural developments, Arc by Crown Group, the store has been designed as the perfect foil for our range of contemporary heirlooms, which are made to be cherished forever.

Wearable Fine Art

The house of Grew & Co was established by gemmologists Simon and Gabrielle Grew in 2006. Since then, it has become a Mecca for incredible bespoke pieces

Spectacular engagement and wedding rings are just part of a repertoire that also spans earrings, necklaces and custom pieces for women and men.

Launch of Ready-to-Wear Collection

The flagship store coincides with the launch of a new, highly anticipated ready-to-wear collection.

These pieces have a vintage, classic feel that is also startlingly contemporary. This duality is brought to life with the finest gold and exotic gemstones sourced from around the world.

Our aesthetic continually evolves but is interwoven with leitmotifs of botanicals, geometric shapes and Art Deco influences.

An Architectural Masterpiece

Grew & Co will be the sole retailer in the Arc by Crown building, surrounded by high-end foodie providores and restaurants. All tenants have been carefully curated to reflect the building’s stylish ethos.

Designed by Koichi Takada’s renowned architectural firm – who are responsible for newly iconic Australian buildings such as the aerodynamic waterfront Melbourne development 889 & 883 Collins St and the directional Infinity by Crown at Green Square – Arc by Crown is causing waves – literally!

Situated in a key heritage precinct of Sydney, the curvilinear building is designed to reactivate and re-energise its surroundings. Its curved arches pays homage to the masonry of significant heritage buildings in Sydney. The intricacy of the brickwork gives it an enriching presence that combines the best of old and new.

It is the perfect match for Grew & Co’s design style.

A Paean to Playful Luxury

Bringing the store’s interior concept to life has been a family affair, led by Gabrielle Grew’s sister, an experienced interior designer. The hero is a custom-made Modieus carpet with a stunning geometric design that echoes the swirls of an Art Deco bracelet.

The soft, rich colour palette of dusty pinks, sage green and pared-back blues adds a warmth which is then echoed through the furnishings. These include smooth French oak cabinetry with resin countertops, playful hexagonal shapes throughout and the textural use of metallic and pastels.

At 150 square metres, the lush pace will have several key areas. The flowing showroom floor will feature a glass wall that looks through into the workshop, so that visitors can view the fine craftsmanship in process. Simon Grew has travelled the world to source cutting-edge tools and equipment. It’s almost as much of a joy to watch the creative process as to try the pieces (almost).

There will also be a private VIP area for high-end purchases and bespoke appointments.

The experiential and sensual, flowing nature of the store reflects our ethos that art isn’t only on the walls, it is something to be lived in and worn.

In the words of Koichi Takada,

"there is more to [design] than the creation of beautiful forms, and it must involve all of our senses."
